Scientific Games (SG) has sealed an arrangement with Warner Bros Discovery to launch a new lottery game with the Game of Thrones brand. Following this announcement, Scientific Games now has limited global rights to the iconic entertainment brand.
The developer says the new lottery game will be available in retail and online lottery operators. This product will incorporate instant scratch games, Fast Play, and digital lottery games.
SG expects the new game to enjoy great success due to the trending HBO series. The show has achieved an outstanding rank on the Power Index among the other branded lottery games.
Commenting on the launch, Kyle Rogers, Vice President of North American Instant Products for Scientific Games, remarked:
"Our global teams are ecstatic to add a powerful brand GAME OF THRONES to our licensed properties portfolio. GAME OF THRONES is already a proven property in the gaming and social gaming sectors. There is so much iconography associated with the TV series that it works creatively with our omni-channel lottery games. Although it appeals to a younger generation of players, multi-generations of viewers watched GAME OF THRONES around the world, so it has the potential to bring its massive fanbase and social media following to lottery.”
Scientific Games revealed that its licensed lottery games in the United States have generated almost $2.7 billion in retail sales for the company. The international lottery corporation has over 100 assets in regulated lottery operators worldwide.
Before launching Game of Thrones, SG had done extensive market research into the success of the game as a product before concluding it would be an ideal fit for its Linked Games lottery range. Launched in 2007, Linked Games lottery games have enjoyed significant success with total sales of $4.8 billion.
